Questions & Answers On Stay At Home Moms Salary

Joseph asks…

Do you know of any stay at home moms, that are working for a company and getting a salary?

Okay, I’m a stay at home mom, that cannot afford daycare. I want to work for a company…a real company…and be paid a salary…a consistent salary every week doing whatever. Does this kind of job exist out there? Does anyone have any advice?

If you’re looking for a work from home JOB (not a home based business), there are lots of companies who hire for call center type positions. And don’t listen to the nay-sayers who say work from home and telecommuting jobs are all scams or that there aren’t real jobs. There are. You just have to know where to look and how to avoid the scams.

Do NOT pay for a list of jobs or pay to get a job. There are a few of the legitimate companies that, after you have qualified for the job, ask you to pay for a background check if you will be handling sensitive information like credit cards. It’s usually $20-$30 and from legitimate companies is a legit fee to pay. Other than that, there is no reason or need to pay anything if you just want a job. Some of the call center jobs, you are an independent contractor (IC) and some you are an employee.

If you want to start a home based business, there will be fees involved and business expenses. There are many legit business opportunities out there in direct sales, multi-level and network marketing. There are great companies to work with, but having a business isn’t for everyone.

Mike asks…

What is your opinion regarding the stay-at-home mom and working-mom salary calculation?

author answers:

Not sure what you want.
First of all, in a marriage, there are a lot of issues that have to be agreed upon with a husband and wife. One of them is finances. I never liked at all, the my money versus your money. In a marriage, it is our money. Decisions whether a woman stays at home or works, is a discussion between the partners and that discussion should be honest and fair. Once that decision is mutually made, that is the end of the discussion. If that is not the subject, let me know.
Some families decide that the husband stays at home for economic reason. And that is OK with me also as long as it is a joint decision.

Do you know the salary of a Stay At Home Mom?

If you don’t know the salary of a stay at home mom, here it is: http://video.ivillage.com/player/?id=100486
Let me know what you think. Stay at home moms you would agree you would get paid this much!

I wish! :)

I’m just gonna get cheesy and say it’s totally worth NOT getting paid to be able to stay home with my child(ren). Not every mom is able to stay at home with their kids even if they really want to and my heart goes out to them. I couldn’t imagine having to drop my kid off to daycare every day. I think I’d cry every single morning on my way to work.
